Twitter provides different post formats for tweets. If you send a tweet to Twitter, you can decide whether you want to share an image with an additional 280 character comment or whether you want to share a link and an automatic preview of your post.
If you choose to post link tweets, Twitter will automatically select the image for your post which is shown in the link preview. Twitter scrolls the metadata of your blog post and, in most cases, automatically displays the featured image of your post.

To share individual images on Twitter you have different options. If you want to share a post and select a specific image for your tweet, you can post an image post tweet instead of a link post (learn more about Social Media Post Formats - The differences between Image Post and Link Post).
With Blog2Social, you can select to post image tweets for individual tweets or by default and you can select individual images for every social media post you share. You can choose between all images from your blog post in your WordPress media library or, if you have a Pro or Business License, you can select any image from your media library and even upload any other new images directly from your computer or mobile.
To define image post Tweets per default, you can select this post format for Twitter in the post preview-editor or in the post templates.
1. Click on “Site & Blog Content” in your Blog2Social dashboard.
2. Select the post you want to share and click on “Share on Social Media”.
3. Click on “Change image”. It’s important that your post format is set to “Image Post”.
4. It is possible to upload images. To do this, you can click on “Image upload / Media Gallery”.
5. Select the image you like to use and click on “Use image”.
6. Now you can apply this image for this post or for all posts.
7. You can choose between “Share Now” or “Schedule for specific dates”. After that you can click on “Share”.
If you are setting up a recurrent scheduling scheme, this is also how you can select individual images for each scheduling plan.
After you have selected individual images for each social network or scheduling plan, click on “Share” to automatically cross-post or share your social media posts according to your social media scheduling plan.
Twitter has strict community rules for posting the same or even substantially similar original content to one or multiple accounts. This limitation applies regardless of whether the tweets are published at the same time, or are scheduled for future publications. With these rules, customized content becomes even more important for posting on Twitter. By using Blog2Social you can customize and tailor your content easily for each of your posts to optimize your Twitter-Marketing in compliance with the Twitter rules.
