How to set up the Auto-Poster for your own blog posts

To find the Auto-Poster click on “Blog2Social” -> “Settings” and select the menu item "Auto-Post".

Or click on "Auto-Post" in the menu on the right side.
You can manage the automatic publication of your blog posts or pages by default under  "Autoposter".
To access the auto-poster settings, activate the auto-poster by clicking on the fist toggle button and switch it from “OFF” to “ON”.

I. Select your network collection for the Autoposter

(1) Click on the drop-down menus to select the network collection that should be used for the autoposter.
(2) If you have more than one Twitter profile, please select your main “Twitter profile”. To comply with the Twitter TOS and to avoid duplicate posts, autoposts will be sent to your primary Twitter profile. (More information.)

II. Select which posts and post types should be shared automatically with the Autoposter

(1) If you want blog posts that you have newly published to be automatically shared after publication, select the box "post" in the category "new posts".

Your Autoposter is set up and you can let Blog2Social do the work for you. :)

Share posts from other authors automatically with your Auto-Poster settings (Business)

With Blog2Social you can transfer the Auto-Poster settings as a WordPress-administrator to other WordPress-authors if they have activated the same Blog2Social-Business license. This way, WordPress-administrators assign social media channels to other WordPress authors, where they can auto-post without having to create the network connection themselves. Within these settings, the WordPress-administrator decides whether newly published or updated content from other WordPress-authors should be automatically shared. WordPress-authors with an assigned Auto-Poster setting and an assigned social-media-network group will then share content automatically how the WordPress-administrator selected the content to be shared automatically.

Step 1: As an administrator, activate your auto-poster profile and settings for other WordPress-authors. Choose one or more WordPress-authors with the same activated Blog2Social license. By clicking on the "x" in the upper right corner above the respective WordPress-author, you can remove the selected WordPress-author from the selection. Step 2: The following settings and configurations are automatically applied when another WordPress-author is assigned for the Auto-Poster configuration:

  • The selected network group by the administrator (the network group name for the assigned users is displayed with the label "External" in the network group selection for the auto-poster.)
  • The configured "Best Times" time settings if applied by the administrator
  • The post templates for the networks in the assigned network group

Step 3: Furthermore, all WordPress-authors as well as the WordPress-administrator can easily remove the assigned Auto-Poster connection by clicking on "Disconnect", so that the default settings are available again.

How to activate the Autoposter for individual WP posts

There are three ways to share your blog posts and pages on social media via Auto-Poster:

Share your blog posts and pages immediately after publication

To share a blog post or a page immediately after publication, open the post or page editor of that post in your WordPress backend and scroll the right menu bar to "Social Media Auto-Posting".

Then select "advanced Settings" to make the other options visible and click on "enable Auto-Posting".

  1. Select your network collection.
  2. Select one Twitter Profile.
  3. Select “immediately after publishing”.

If you publish your blog post afterwards, it will automatically be shared with the Auto-Poster on your selected accounts.

Share your blog posts and pages at your best times

You can manage your "best times" in the network selection. To share a blog post or a page at your best times, go to the post or page editor of that post in your WordPress backend and scroll the right menu bar to "Social Media Auto-Posting".

Then select "advanced Settings" to make the other options visible and click on "enable Auto-Posting".

  1. Select your network collection.
  2. Select one Twitter Profile.
  3. Select “at best times”.

Please note:

If you have not specified your own times, Blog2Social automatically provides you with the best times to post on the social networks. You can always edit your own times in the “Networks” section.

If you are happy with your settings, click on "Publish" to share your blog post.

Share your already published blog posts and pages when updating

You can activate the Auto-Poster also for already published blog posts or pages.

If you update already published blog posts or pages for which you have activated the Auto-Poster in the post editor, the post will be shared again with each update.

Please note:

A post or a page that you have edited will be published again with each update as long as the field "enable Auto-Posting" is selected.
